Church Groups

Girl’s Brigade is returning Monday 25th August. 630pm-8pm. All Girls who are school aged (p1-S6) are welcome. Girls Brigade is a weekly organisation. We aim to create a safe environment for the Girls who attend. We enjoy playing games, making crafts, learning about different topics and learning about the Bible.

Ladies Bible Study group – We meet weekly, on Tuesday at 10am in the Fintry Building, to look at a passage of the Bible and pray together.  Some of us have been reading the Bible for years; others are starting out.   All our questions and insights are welcome, and we help one another to learn.  We are keen not just to understand what we read, but also to see how we live it out in our lives.

Tots Group – Wednesday 9.30 – 11am.  This is a friendly, inclusive group.  Babies, toddlers and pre-school children are welcome with their adults.  We have a good variety of toys; and often there are crafts, songs and a story.  There is fruit and juice for the children – and tea, coffee for the adults.

Community Food Larder – Our Community Larder has just marked its 5th year with its inception coming as a result of our response to the Covid-19 pandemic where we distributed over 5000 lunches and 800 food boxes over a 3 month period. The larder is open from 11am-12:30pm each Thursday in the Fintry building, 48 weeks of the year, supported by a committed team of volunteers and local healthcare professionals.  We are members of the Dundee Community Food Network, Neighbourly and Fareshare working together with the aim of redirecting food waste and tackling food poverty.

Tea & Toast Café – Over the 5 years the larder has continued to grow and evolve, an example of this being, the introduction of the tea and toast cafe before larder, now an integral part of our provision. This cafe started through consultation with larder members who were building friendship but had nowhere to meet. In addition, the larder had seen a pattern of excess bakery items from supermarkets. Thus these items were and still are the staple for the cafe. The cafe runs 9:30am-11am before each larder session by a talented, hard working group of volunteers.

In the last year many of our larder members at tea and toast have asked for spiritual support to assist with issues in their personal life’s. As a result we now offer a collective short devotion and prayer at every tea and toast for those who wish to attend.

Youth Club is a safe place for young people to meet, grow and fulfil their God-given potential. We meet during term time on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 7.30pm. We are also adding a further weekly session for those wishing to explore faith further. We aim to go on a trip four times per year. In addition, young people can go on three faith-based residentials in Pitlochry through our partners Christian charity, Go! Youth Trust based in central Scotland.

Friendship group – We meet twice monthly on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, from 1pm – 3pm in the Douglas Building.  There is a varied programme including carpet bowls, table games, interesting talks, a cooking demonstration – along with a cup of tea (and a wee sweet thing!!).  We enjoy catching up with one another and making new friends.

Craft & Chatter – On the last Thursday of the month, we meet from 2 – 4pm in the Fintry Lounge.  We enjoy one another’s company; learning a new craft, usually taught by Ali, and a refreshing cup of tea or coffee.
